Spring is in full swing, and those of us with green thumbs couldn't be happier about it. If you've been wanting to work on your garden this year, now is the perfect time to dive in. North Canton and Akron's many nurseries and garden centers have everything you need to make the most of our area's planting season. Visit these popular local garden retailers to pick up plants, supplies, and a hearty dose of inspiration.

Aquatic Gardens of Ohio

932 S. Main St., North Canton, OH 44720

Not all gardening happens when you're up to your elbows in potting soil. Aquatic Gardens of Ohio stocks everything you need to make your garden's pond shine this spring, including pond plants like water lilies and duckweed, and pond supplies like filters, pumps, and liners.

If you want to stock your pond with fish, they've got live goldfish, koi, and other hardy species that can survive an Ohio winter. Their staff can also give you tips on how to take care of your pond if this is your first spring with one on your property. Getting it set up properly from the start will make maintenance much easier when summer rolls around.

Petitti Garden Center

Petitti Garden Center grows almost all of the plants they sell in company greenhouses, ensuring that only the best ones make it onto the store's shelves. You'll find a wide selection of annuals and perennials here, including color-coordinated selections available through the store's Color Your Garden product line.

They've also got showstopping roses and hydrangeas (some of our favorite options to boost curb appeal quickly!) and plenty of trees and shrubs that are perfect for adding shade and making colorful flowers pop. They even offer planting services for homeowners looking for a little extra help establishing their garden.

If you're working on your garden beds, shop their selection of established saplings, shrubs, flowers, and ferns that are ready to take root. Their selection of tools, like spades and watering cans, has everything you need to get started.
